How to report an error
Reports reach us through the website contact form at /contact/ or through in-app support. Whichever route you use, three details help us act quickly: the page or question concerned (its title or web address), the exact wording you believe is wrong, and — if you have it — the source that supports your reading, such as a textbook and its edition or an official notification.
One note on what counts as an error: differences of interpretation between standard textbooks are not always mistakes. Where authoritative sources genuinely differ, we follow the position more widely accepted for the examination concerned and note the difference on the page.
What happens after you report
Every report follows the same workflow:
- Triage. The report is logged and assessed — what it affects, how many students it touches, and whether it concerns an examination fact already due for review. Reports that could mislead students in an upcoming examination are treated first.
- Academic verification. A member of the PrepElephant Academic Review Team verifies the point against standard textbooks and official sources.
- Correction with an updated date. If the report is confirmed, the page is corrected and its "last updated" date changes. If the correction required re-verification of the surrounding material, the "last reviewed" date changes too.
How major corrections are shown
When a correction changes the meaning of what a page said — an inverted value, a wrong classification, a misstated criterion — we do not quietly overwrite it. A short note is added to the page recording what was corrected and when, so any student who learned the earlier version knows to re-learn it.
