How content is drafted
Every page begins with a brief: the examination, the subject, and the exact question a student needs answered. A subject expert — a doctor, educator or professional familiar with the examination — then drafts the material, working from standard sources rather than from memory or from other preparation websites.
The draft then moves to academic review, where the PrepElephant Academic Review Team checks it for factual accuracy, curriculum alignment and alignment with the examination's pattern. Only after review is complete do we publish, with the dates and byline shown on the page. No page skips this route from drafting to review to publication.
How sources are chosen
We rely on two kinds of sources, in this order of authority:
- Standard textbooks — the editions widely used in Indian medical and engineering curricula, which we treat as the reference on contested points.
- Official examination bodies — the National Medical Commission (NMC), the National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS), the National Testing Agency (NTA) and AIIMS, for examination patterns, syllabuses and official announcements.
Where authoritative sources genuinely differ — as textbooks sometimes do — we follow the position more widely accepted for the examination concerned, and we say so on the page rather than silently choosing one side.
How questions and answers are reviewed
Practice questions receive the same review as written answers, with additional checks of their own. Each question is verified for factual correctness; each option, right and wrong, is checked so that distractors are plausible but clearly incorrect on sound reasoning; and each explanation is read to confirm that it teaches the reasoning, not just the answer. Reviewers also check that the difficulty and style of a question sit within the pattern of the actual examination, so that practice resembles the paper you will sit.
Where technology assists
PrepElephant uses drafting assistance — including AI tools — in parts of its workflow, and we think it is right to say so plainly. Technology helps our authors organise material and prepare first passes of text. It does not decide what is true. Nothing is auto-published: no page or question reaches you without human subject drafting and human academic review, and responsibility for everything that appears on PrepElephant rests with the PrepElephant Academic Review Team.
How errors are corrected
When an error is confirmed, we correct the page, update its dates, and — where the correction changes the meaning of what we had written — add a note on the page describing what changed and when. The full workflow, from report to correction, is described on our Corrections policy page at /corrections-policy/.
Review cadence
Pages that carry examination facts — dates, patterns, eligibility, syllabus — are reviewed ahead of each examination cycle and whenever an official body announces a change. Other educational pages are reviewed on a rolling schedule, and always when reader feedback or a correction report shows something worth re-checking. Every page shows when it was last reviewed, so you can judge its currency yourself.
