Information for parents
What PrepElephant is
PrepElephant is an examination preparation platform with two parts. The website — the pages you are reading now — publishes answers to preparation questions, free, for anyone to read. The PrepElephant app, launching now on Android and iOS, is where practice happens: question banks, previous-year questions, mock tests, revision tools and study plans, organised examination by examination.
What the app contains
Depending on the examination your child is preparing for, a PrepElephant course can include:
- Question banks for regular, topic-wise practice.
- Previous-year questions (PYQs) from the actual examination, with explanations.
- Mock tests in the pattern of the real paper.
- Revision tools such as checklists, for the final weeks before the examination.
- Study plans that turn a syllabus into a schedule.
One honest note on what the app does not contain: there are no video lectures and no live classes. PrepElephant is built around reading and practice, and we would rather tell you that clearly now than have you expect something else.
Who prepares the material
PrepElephant comes from a doctor-run education family. The material is prepared by doctors, educators and professionals familiar with the examinations covered, and every page — on the website and in the app — carries the byline "Prepared and reviewed by the PrepElephant Academic Review Team". Nothing is published before academic review. The review process and our editorial standards are described openly on the Academic review process and Editorial policy pages of this website.
Keeping preparation focused
The app is built to be focused, without advertisements or unrelated social feeds. When your child opens PrepElephant, what is on the screen is preparation — a study plan, a question bank, a mock test, a revision checklist — not a feed competing for attention. There is nothing to scroll that is not study.
How progress is tracked
Inside the app, students can see their own progress: practice history, mock test results and topic-wise performance, so revision time follows evidence rather than anxiety. We will say this plainly: there is no separate parent dashboard at launch. Your child can show you their progress inside the app at any time, and the study plan makes the coming week visible at a glance.
Devices
The app is available on Android and iOS, so it works whether your child uses an Android phone or an iPhone. The website, which is entirely free, works on any phone or computer with a browser.
Payments and data
Purchases are made inside the app, and payments are processed via standard secure payment gateways. Pricing for each course is shown in the app before any purchase, and free samples come first, so nothing is paid for unseen. Account details are used to run your child's courses and to show their progress in the app.
How you can support your child's preparation
- Ask about the week, not the rank. A study plan exists precisely so that the answer is concrete: what is planned, and what is done.
- Treat mock test results as a map. A mock shows what to revise next; it is information, not a verdict. Students who fear a result stop taking mocks, and that hurts preparation most.
- Read together. The website's answers are free. Reading a topic answer with your child, even briefly, tells you more about the course than any description will.
- Protect the routine. Steady hours, regular meals and enough sleep do more for recall than any last-week push.
- Be a steady presence. Entrance examinations are important, and preparation goes better when home is calm. Your belief matters more than your worry.
